Air Dispersion Modeling

Air quality dispersion modeling utilizes mathematical formulas to characterize atmospheric processes that disperse a pollutant emitted by a source. Along with emissions, terrain, and/or meteorological inputs, a dispersion model is used to predict concentrations of a particular pollutant at receptor locations outside a facility’s fence line. These air dispersion models are used to determine compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) and other regulatory requirements like New Source Review (NSR) and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) regulations.

How PPM Consultants Assists
with Air Dispersion Modeling

If your site/facility requires air dispersion modeling for permitting, compliance determination requirements, or any other reason, then PPM is here to help. PPM personnel have conducted air dispersion models for a wide variety of manufacturing facilities, including such services as:

  • NAAQS and PSD Significant Impact Level (SIL) analysis
  • NAAQS and PSD Refined Modeling (NAAQS and Increment analyses)
  • Visibility Analyses
  • Modeled Emission Rate for Precursors (MERPs) analyses
